Our Practice

Common Ground for Family Legal Matters

Waris Seri was founded on a simple belief — that people facing difficult family situations deserve legal support that is calm, honest, and centred on them.

Who We Are

A Practice Built on Patience and Discretion

Waris Seri grew from a straightforward observation: families going through legal difficulties rarely need an adversarial approach — they need someone who listens carefully, explains clearly, and moves at a human pace. Our practice was established in Kuala Lumpur to provide precisely that.

We focus exclusively on family law matters — consultations, separation and divorce support, and custody and maintenance proceedings. This focus allows us to understand both the legal details and the lived experience of each situation we handle. We do not measure our work by the number of cases closed, but by how well we serve the person in front of us.

Our office at Jalan Kia Peng in central Kuala Lumpur is designed to be a calm, neutral space — somewhere you can speak openly, think through your options, and make decisions without pressure. Whether you are at the beginning of a difficult process or somewhere in the middle, we are here to steady the ground beneath you.

Our Mission

What Drives Our Work

Clarity Over Complexity

We translate legal processes into plain language so you understand every step, without needing a legal background to keep up.

Respect for Every Person

We treat each client with the same respect and care regardless of the nature or complexity of their matter.

Confidentiality as a Foundation

Everything shared with us remains strictly private. Our obligation to your confidence is unconditional and ongoing.

Children's Wellbeing First

In matters involving children, their stability and welfare form the centre of every recommendation we make.

Family Legal Support in Kuala Lumpur

Waris Seri is a family law practice based in central Kuala Lumpur, serving clients across the Klang Valley and beyond. Our work covers the full range of personal family legal matters — from a first confidential conversation about your options, through to formal proceedings involving separation, divorce, child custody, access arrangements, and maintenance.

Family law in Malaysia sits at the intersection of personal, cultural, and legal dimensions. The Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976 governs civil marriages, while matters involving Muslim families fall under the Islamic Family Law (Federal Territories) Act 1984 and corresponding state enactments. At Waris Seri, we are experienced in working with clients across both frameworks, and we take care to explain clearly which laws apply to your situation and what that means for your options.

Our practice values measured, client-centred advice over speed or volume. We take on matters where we believe we can genuinely serve the person involved — with care, patience, and professional rigour from first contact to final resolution.

We Are Here When You Are Ready

A confidential initial conversation can help you understand where you stand. There is no obligation, and no pressure.
